Romania will see a two-month period of drought in July and August, which might affect the corn output, but this year’s dry weather is nothing like the one in the summer of 2007, head of the National Meteorology Administration, Ion Sandu, said Wednesday.
Romania’s south and southeastern regions will be most affected by drought, Sandu said.
“Rainfall in the south and southeast will reach 40 liters per square meter in July, while the required quantity is much higher,” he said.
Sandu added he hopes the dry weather stops in November.
