Romanian Agriculture Minister Ilie Sarbu underwent cholecystectomy surgery at the Floreasca Emergency Hospital in Bucharest on Saturday, official sources said.
The surgery lasted for approximately one hour, after which Sarbu was taken into intensive care unit.
Sarbu’s condition is good, the mentioned sources said.
Ilie Sarbu took the office at the Agriculture Ministry in December 2008. He previously ran the ministry between 2001 and 2004.
In December 2003, Sarbu was shot in the left inguinal area while hunting.
