The Code of Good Practice for food products will be applied in stores by September 15, at the latest, aiming to eliminate abuses of the supermarkets in their relationship with the producers, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Ilie Sârbu said Friday, on radio Realitatea FM.
„If it were for me and if what we agreed to is respected, normally, by 15 September at the latest, the Code should already be in practice”, Ilie Sârbu explained.
The Agriculture Minister also said there were three drafts of the Code of Good Practice at present, which should be unified, namely the Emergency Ordinance adopted by the Government, the draft submitted to the Committee of Agriculture and the similar project submitted to the Industries Committee within the Chamber of Deputies.
In February, the Ministry of Agriculture, the employers and the unions in the food industry, in the absence of retailers, finalised the draft of the ordinance regarding the Code of Good Practice.
